Barbara Jaakkola
Dear Adam and family:
We are so very sorry for your loss!
Bob, Alex, I and Hildegard Deak have so many fond memories of Markham Street, First Avenue and Chesley!
Idanani was a force to be reckoned with! A very hard working, determined, no nonsense, go getter! A "petite Dynamo", who was always up to any test or challenge life threw her way! She did not suffer fools! Needles to say her accomplishments and achievements were many!
She had a great sense of herself as a person and a good sense of humor, always able to laugh at herself! I remember her telling me with her big toothy grin that the reason she wore very high heeled shoes was because she hated being called "shorty" and that every inch counted! She loved bargains! When last I saw her at my mom's, she proudly paraded about showing me her lovely trousers, which were your dad's recycled pants! Not only did they fit her but Bert was always with her!
She was an interesting woman who had many stories to tell, but unfortunately, like many women of her time, when she finally had time to to talk we were all too busy to listen and learn! I tried to encourage her to write down her stories for her grand daughter. I hope she did! I personally am sorry that I couldn't spend more time with her. What a loss for all of us!
A Tiny Dynamo--like the eveready battery we thought she could last for forever! A new Tinker Bell in God's heaven, flying madly about!
Remembered fondly with love by,
Barbara (Dano) Jaakkola
Alexander Dano
Robert (Bob) Dano
Hildegard Deak (her oldest and dearest friend)
