Condolence From: Thinking of you dear Sophie
Condolence: Sophie and Family.
My heartfelt condolences on hearing of the loss of your husband/Father. I had the pleasure of meeting Al several times (while you were working at Alumitex) and remember your animated and loving conversations always revolving around family.
I have no doubt your Al will be terribly missed and hope that the love and support from family and friends brings you comfort in the days ahead.
Blessings dear Sophie.
Thinking of you at this time,
Reni Both-Greet

Condolence: Dad,
From the time I was very young until now, you have installed many values that I will use in my life. Being close with our family, working hard to get ahead of life and always helping out friends and family. I will always have many fond memories of trips we have taken, supporting us and your grandchildren in many social and sporting events and taking us across Canada and the USA on trips and to visit family. If there was a meaning for "Dad" in the dictionary, "Alex Gerelus" would definitely be there. Both my mom and dad were a power couple as parents and till my dad's death, it never stopped. Mom, thank you for your unconditional love in caring and supporting dad. The care you have given him allowed us all the extra time to spend with him. Dad...may you rest in peace.

Condolence: I have a memory from a trip to Toronto as a kid being in Uncle Al and Auntie Sophie's back yard and first realizing cucumbers could be climbing plants(as they are now in my garden), and seeing the Concorde jet fly overhead. These are two things not witnessed in Shoal Lake. I didn't get the chance to know my Gido as he passed when I was four-- I often felt that Uncle Al was in some way a living connection to him.

Condolence From: Sobkowich Family
Condolence: Auntie Sophie, Daryl, Brian and Blair and your families,

Our heartfelt condolences for your loss. We are so sorry to hear.
- Geraldine, John, Lori, Sandy, Terry, Colin and our families.

The BIGGEST laughter and smiles are memories I hold dear of Uncle Alec and of you, Auntie Sophie.

Distance has kept seeing each other to a few times. I am ever so grateful for the strong family bond that the Gerelus Family holds which has given opportunities to gather at anniversary celebrations. They were the BEST!

My earliest recollection, 6 years old, I can still see your visit to Winnipeg and recall (not the words), but the sound of your voices. That's the presence your family still holds strong in my heart. That memory is always carried with me.

Uncle Al was a lovely man.

May his gifts be your spiritual mending.

- Geraldine (Sobkowich) Rinkel

Condolence: Dad,
First of all I want you to know I love you I can’t thank you enough for making me the man I am today. You’ve instilled morals and strong sense of family values that have man I am today. Dad you were always there proud of us even if the outcome wasn’t what we wanted you were proud anyway, you knew it taught us something in the end. I promise to do the same. I know I’m lucky I’ve been blessed to spend so much time with you and mom. I could see you slowly getting tired and how the simple things became difficult. You’ve made us laugh your sense of humour and having fun I guess I inherited. To our family and friends thank you for loving him we can tell by your messages and condolences you’ve posted. To my Brothers thank you and carry on what dad would have wanted. To my Mom thank you you have loved him for the last 63 years and I know you will continue to. You’ve set a example of love honour and faith that I know we will share, maybe I haven’t told you but I’m glad you did. The last few months dad got weaker but you grew stronger pushing him to try and I know it wasn’t easy , You’ve got us ,
Dad, I’ll miss you! You’ve taken a piece of my heart with you. I promise to take what you’ve instilled in me forward in my own life. I know you’ll always be near cheering each of us on . The one thing I’ll never know is how you always beat us in checkers? We wish the time spent with those we love could last forever and in our hearts it will
Love Blair ❤️ Till we meet again

Condolence From: Daryl Gerelus
Condolence: To my beloved Father. Words can not tell the way I feel at this moment. But I certainly will try. I remember at an early young age where you bestowed into our souls a hard work ethic, and to love your family, neighbor's and friends. Love isn't just about nurturing, it's also about caring. Caring about the people who mean the most to you. You can certainly tell how much you were loved by all the condolences, texts we have all received, and the hundreds of Facebook postings from Ringtail Campground.
You worked tirelessly at many jobs to get ahead. To provide your family the best way possible. You then past that down to your family. Mom, Blair, Bryan and myself.
It started out cutting grass for our neighbor's in the summer and shoveling snow in the winter. Then doing paper routes all year long. Anything to teach us how to make a buck. You helped us by supplying the lawn mower and gas and the shovels. No snow blowers back then. When we got paid, you never took a dime from any of us. He said, "Take care of your fellow neighbor's and they will respect and take care of you when needed". That they certainly did.
"Respect your family, then they will respect you". That, we all certainly do.
Never got an allowance out of you, but you always gave us the best you had. You and mom helped start all our lives, educations, and homes. For that I will always LOVE you and mom.
She took care of you for the last several years, but that's because she loved you. 63 years of marriage, Congratulations. A lifetime fulfillment of dreams and accomplishments.
Dad, your on your way to your next life. As your son, I am truly very proud and honored to have been a part of your life.
To my mother, my dads soul mate and caregiver. I'm very proud of how you have taken care of each other over the years. I promise to bestow the same ethic within our own family. To my brothers, you guys are awesome in so many ways. Just remember, differences of opinion may temporarily set us aside, but together there is nothing we can't conquer.
Last and for not least. My DAD. May you join your family in your in your New Life. You deserve to be reunited. Heaven is going to have one heck of a party. At this time, let's all remember to celebrate my father's life like you all new him.
GOD BLESS YOU DAD!!
With all my LOVE, your son Daryl
