Everett was a Korean War Veteran, serving in the Royal Canadian Regiment. He met his wife Jean while on leave. He settled with “the love of his life” in Oshawa to raise their family. Dad began his career in General Motors where he worked for 32 years and became a proud member of Union Local 222.
Always an outdoorsman and passionate about hunting and fishing, Dad became a member of Union Rod and Gun, Orono Gun and Oshawa Skeet clubs. He was a skilled trap shooter, winning many competitions and events. He will be remembered by many friends who shared his passion. Throughout his well lived life, he travelled to Wyoming and Northern Quebec to hunt and Mason and Vandalia, Ohio to shoot in “The Grande’ Competition”. For 30 years Mom and Dad spent winters in Florida enjoying many friendships and activities.
Engaging in his favourite hobbies, pen making, reloading shells and making lamps, he was forever “The Gadget Man”.
As well as mastering the computer at 80 years of age, Dad always kept his mind sharp by playing cards, taking computer courses and sending e-mails.
Extremely proud of his home and property, he spent many hours in his backyard gardening and spending time with his faithful 4 legged friend “Sparky”.
