It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Brown announces his passing on August 1st, 2015 at his residence in his 90th year. Born in England in 1925 and emigrated to Canada in 1955. Joseph was the beloved husband of the late Valerie (2010) and they lived together in joyous harmony for 57 years. Loving father of Susan Gallagher and her husband Bruce. Cherished step-grandfather to Karen Burns and her husband Dave and great step-grandfather to Courtney. Dear brother-in-law to Elsie Oldfield and Betty Bailey. Predeceased by his four sisters. He will be greatly missed by his many close family members and friends in England and Canada. Joseph was a Life Insurance Underwriter for most of his working life. A memorial service will be held at W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, on September 12th 2015, with a visitation from 10:00am – 11:00am followed by the service at 11:00am. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Durham Region or the Charity of your Choice.
