Obituary for Costanza Rufo (Pellegrini)

RUFO, Costanza -
Peacefully, surrounded by family, Costanza (Pellegrini) Rufo passed away in the early hours of October 21, 2018 at Kipling Acres. Costanza was born in San Donato Val Di Comino, Frosinone, Italy, on November 14, 1929. She with her husband Claudio and two young sons immigrated to Canada during its Centennial year. In the last half century, Costanza remained a devoted home maker, with a brief interval working in Toronto’s garment industry. It was known to all that the Rufo Home was a warm and welcoming, and it became a place of communion and companionship especially around the kitchen table. Costanza and Claudio most enthusiastically embraced the role of Nonna and Nonno offering loving pre-school care to their most cherished Julian and Stefan. Preceding her passing were her beloved Claudio and sisters Lucia and Gerarda. She is survived by her sons Robert and Paul and their wives Jennifer and Mickie along with Julian and Stefan, and siblings Donata, Carmela, Luigi (Gino), and Cesidio. The Rufo family wishes to thank all of those who cared for Costanza over the past few years and most recently during her time at Kipling Acres. Resting at NEWEDIUK FUNERAL HOME, KIPLING CHAPEL, 2058 Kipling Avenue (North of Rexdale Boulevard), on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Benedict Church, 2194 Kipling Avenue, Toronto, on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at 10:30am.
