IRVINE, EFFIE MARJORIE (Madge) (nee Edwards) -
In her 96th year, passed away peacefully at home in Toronto on Wednesday, May 16, 2018. Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Madge was the beloved wife of the late Reginald Irvine (1981) and then Robert Bain (2006), who she considered her best friends. Predeceased by her brother and seven sisters, she was the loving mother of Reginald (Alan), Denise Irvine-Robertson (Finlay), Anthony (Maria), and Beverley Martin, cherished grandmother of Tricia, Melanie, Christine and Denise and proud great-grandmother of five. Madge loved traveling, volunteering in her community and spending time with her family. She will be fondly remembered for her generous and loving nature. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church, 2547 Kipling Avenue, Toronto, 416-749-4391 on Friday, May 25, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens, 1810 Albion Road, Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations to Toronto West - St. Andrew's Roman Catholic Church Parish Building Fund (community.archtoronto.org) would be appreciated by the family.
