The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Charles Zommers can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolence: Dear Joan and Boys
Oh Joan.....I was so surprised and saddened when I got the news. I wish I had received the news earlier so that I could have attended the service. Joan I really hope you and the boys are coping the best you can. Chuck was a wonderful man. We certainly had great times together which I will remember fondly. I do not live in Toronto now.....I am in Niagara. Perhaps you could come for a visit and we could share memories together. I love you my dear old friend. Please give me a call when you get a chance.

Condolence: Our deepest condolences to Joan and the family. We are sorry we could not make it to the visitation. Chuck will be deeply missed. Will always have fond memories of Chuck from the annual park horse shoe tournament, to meeting at the boat dock early morning and having humorous conversations. He was a true gentleman. His presence will be missed.

Condolence: First I'd like to express my deepest sympathy on the passing of Chuck, who I'm sure was a great husband, father and grandfather. While Chuck and I were not close friends I've known him for 50 years. I met Chuck on Monday Oct. 28, 1968. Why do I remember that date? That was the day I started at Bell. The first part of that morning our Foreman had me doing all the paperwork a new employee had to complete and then drove me out to where Chuck was working. Chuck was assigned to assist in my training. I rode on and off with Chuck many days over the next few weeks, learning the ropes. Chuck was easy to talk with, always had a great laugh and no matter how slow I was, Chuck had lots of patience with me. Chuck and I only worked together for about the first 4 years and then our careers took separate paths. However, we did meet up at different meetings from time to time over the next few decades. If someone were to ask me who were the top three people who influence my life at Bell, Chuck's name would be one of those people. To his family all I can say is time will heal today's sorrow, but your memories of a remarkable person will never fade. God Bless you all.

Condolence: We were shocked and saddened by the sudden loss of our friend Chuck. The park will not be the same without him. We will miss him walking his little dog Halle; his greetings in “German” to Joe; our cribbage games (even though he always won); his requests for “ice cream cake” at our Easy Street potlucks; and most of all our daily chats. Chuck was always willing to lend a hand, no matter how big or small the job was. Chuck’s love for his family and friends and definitely his love for animals will always remain in our hearts. Our condolences go out to the entire Zommers family. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you all during this most difficult time. RIP Chuck! You will be truly missed!
