Obituary for Ann Kupchanko

Ann Kupchanko
KUPCHANKO, Ann -
(March 11, 1933 – May 13, 2017)
Peacefully at home with her family at her side on Saturday, May 13, 2017. Pre-deceased by her parents Harry and Dora Sabadash. Dearly beloved and cherished wife of Michael (Spike) for 59 years. Devoted and loving mother of Katharine (John). Sadly missed by brother-in-law Johnny (Audrey) and family, and sister-in-law Jean Zwarych and family. Ann will also be lovingly remembered by her longtime friends that she met while at High School and over the course of her career.
Ann was born and grew up in York Township (Toronto). She attended York Memorial Collegiate where she was an avid participant in the school life as both cheerleader, and as the school’s first elected female Student Council President. After graduation, Ann went on to enjoy a wonderfully rewarding career at George Harvey Secondary School, Thistletown Collegiate Institute, and finally at North Albion Collegiate from which she eventually retired.
Ann and Mike shared a true love story that spanned 59 wonderful years. They were a picture of absolute devotion that included many shared interests and adventures. Ann loved to travel – whether it was a short trip to Niagara Falls for a slice of fresh baked pie, road trips throughout the USA, ocean cruises, climbing the storied cobblestone walks in Europe, or flying by helicopter over an active volcano in Hawaii - she was a trooper- and was thrilled to share the moments with her husband and daughter by her side. Despite many health challenges over the years, Ann still expressed a positive outlook on life. She was an incredible wife, mother and loyal friend. She will be greatly missed and remembered with much love!
