The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Walter Donald Sklepowich can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Margaret Law
Condolence: To all of Don's family and friends,

I am so sorry for your loss.

Having worked with Don for a short period when he first got hired at U of T, he was nothing but kind, generous and a wonderful human being. He even gave me a copy of a Cat Stevens cd when he and I were talking about him one day during our shift. I still have the cd after all this time.

Don, I will miss you.

Condolence: Dear Aunty Kay, Steven & Family.

While we have not seen each other much in the last few years, we remember Don very fondly. The last time we met was at Don and Helen Boyles 50th anniversary, Don made a big impression on our daughters and they have kept up with the family and Dons career. Amanda created Sklepowiches of the world face book group and it has been successful in connecting us with many family members. We are so sorry to hear of Dons passing, may god be with all of you. With our love and affection. ❤️

Condolence: I worked with Don at the Media Commons in 2009, when I was a student at U of T.

Don was lovely and he was a pleasure to work with because of his great sense of humour.

My condolences to his family.

Condolence: I only met Don a few times at his Robarts' post. He was invariably kind, helpful and humorous. It was always a pleasure to deal with him. He was very knowledgeable about the collection and interested in many subjects. I am shocked and saddened to hear news of his death. He'll be missed. Condolences to his family, loved ones and friends.

Condolence From: John Gilinsky
Condolence: Please accept my deepest sympathies at the sudden passing of Don who has left this earth too soon. As a frequent nay chronic user of especially Robarts Library I found Don to be extremely knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and welcoming above and beyond his normative job duties. As a user I will miss his positive attitude and general positive outlook. Don probably didn't know that he in fact made many more friends than he realized. He was just too busy trying to help everyone to notice just how most people most of the time really appreciated him. That old saying you don't know how good someone is till they leave is so true in Don's case. Don I hope you are in a far better place now, are happy and restful. You more than deserve it.
